wash away your troubles..

Wow,
it's been a while, this was supposed to be a regular thing. oh well.

My washing machine is broken. well was. it would wash and spin just wouldn't drain. so as a result i have a load of towels soaked in scungy water. fun huh?

after removing said towels and ringing them out i still have a bunch of wet towels.

enter the dryer.

finally dry. after like 6 cycles there is no trace of damp in the towels, though they still smell a little funny. need to rewash once the washer is fixed with vineger.

now to bail out the washer. (bail out heh, sounds like a bank or a morgage broker :-) )

lot's of ewww at this point. any bucket i have is either too big to fit in the washer or to small to make this any faster.

After a mouth full of afore mentioned scunge water trying to use a garden hose to syphon the water out, i have finally had it. i go buy a Drill pump and some fittings for the hose segments and the happiness ensues. Attaching this little marvel to the drill and proceed to suck the sludge laden water into the drain.

mind you this is a couple days worth of fermenting laundry weighing down the machine so i feel around and pull out a stray belt. not a pants belt a pulley belt.

once the water level is down to a level where i can move the washer to a point where i can access the underside.

3 seconds later the belt is re attached to the drive and relay wheels for the drain pump.

now for the test.

extra small load. check.

large splash of bleach. check.

short cycle. check.

sucess. the wasing machine is now in fully functional condition. yeah!

Testing..?

I have had this sitting around for the longest time. every thing appears to be legit but i have been unable to get other people to try this. granted up to this point i have not really tried that hard.

why oh why?

Hello out there. This is my second or third attempt to get this thing rolling so hopefully I'll have a little more luck this time. I think my initial problem was trying to figure out what to write. Not being a big communicator and all.

But I've decided to write what interests me and not worry about external forces at this point.

With that being said, I suppose a little about me; where to start?

Where to start?

Let's see.....?

I was born at a very young age, multiple years ago and have lived up until this point. I am married to a beautiful woman also of multiple years and we have 2 rambunctious little rug rats.

I enjoy building and repairing computers, (I also like to tweak my system and play with new hardware if any one out there has any they want me to reviewJ) I enjoy music and watching TV.

I was born in Australia so I have a slightly British twist to my TV tastes. I enjoy Doctor Who and Torchwood along with more mainstream American shows such as CSI: (insert city here)

Since I mentioned it earlier I might as well expand on my PC.

I just upgraded from a gigabyte PCI board to a Biostar p4m900-m4, since the chip I was running on the gigabyte was a 478 and was being woefully underpowered when I put it in the new board I could finally use hyper-threading and the full 3.0 GHz. Of course that makes me very happy. Unfortunately I only have 512MB, which is runnable but with Vista ultimate, sucks. On that I'm kind of surprised I like Vista. I suppose running on reasonably powerful equipment makes the difference. I need to upgrade my memory. Ideally I would like to get 4GB or possibly 4GB. Also my wife could use an upgrade too in the memory department. The only problem is getting windows to recognize the whole thing. I have tried PMA but I guess you actually need the memory before that can be implemented. I also have a ATI Radeon 2400xtwhich I have run dual monitors on but again with a limited amount of memory is very slow and choppy. But with dual link the resolutions for each monitor can be different so my new 19inch (thanks honey) could be at a higher resolution than the 15 inch which maxes out at 1024X768. I also have a TV-tuner card that I bought for the purposes of transferring video tapes to dvd. Still working out the details on that. I guess that will be future blog material.

I'm realizing as I insert the hyperlinks above I buy a lot of stuff from newegg.com. lets see if this will transfer over now.
